Tigerfish usually spawn, or lay eggs, during the rainy
season when rivers are full of water. ๐ง
A female can lay thousands of eggs, which float on the surface of the water! After a few days, tiny baby tigerfish, called fry, emerge. These fry are quite small and must hide among plants to avoid being eaten. ๐
Once they grow up, tigerfish can live for around 5 to 10 years in the wild, but in safe conditions, they might live even longer! Youthful tigerfish grow quickly, making the most of the rich waters they call home.
