There are several types of triathlon races, each with different distances! The shortest race is a "sprint," which usually includes a 0.5-mile swim, followed by a 12.4-mile bike ride and a 3.1-mile run. π
A "standard" or "Olympic" triathlon is longer, with a 0.9-mile swim, 24.8-mile bike ride, and 6.2-mile run. For the super-strong athletes, thereβs the Ironman, which is very challenging! πͺ
This race is much longer, with a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, and a full marathon run. There are also
relay races where friends can team up to do one leg each! π€
