During mating season, male Nicobar pigeons perform a special dance to attract females. π
Once a couple forms, they build a nest together high in a tree. The female lays one egg, which both parents take turns sitting on to keep it warm. After about 24 days, the egg hatches into a fluffy chick! The parents feed the chick "pigeon milk," a nutritious substance they produce. The young pigeon can leave the nest after about 3 weeks, but it stays close to its parents for safety.
