Lilac-breasted rollers are dedicated parents! π«
During mating season, they perform beautiful courtship dances to attract a partner. Once they find a mate, they work together to build their nests, usually in tree holes or old termitaria ( termite mounds). The female lays around 3-5 eggs, and both parents take turns sitting on the eggs to keep them warm. After 3-4 weeks, baby rollers hatch and rely on their parents for food while learning how to fly. Soon, they grow up and start their own families! π£
