Grunions can be found in the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean, mainly along the beaches of California and Baja California, Mexico. π
They love sandy beaches where there are lots of little places to hide from predators. Grunions prefer shallow water areas, especially during their breeding season. They are often seen swimming around rocks, kelp beds, and shallow reefs, which offer safety from larger fish and birds. These tiny fish play a vital role in the food chain, providing meals for birds, seals, and even humans!
