Gorillas are amazing animals that live in the forests of Africa! 🌍

They are the largest primates on Earth, which means they’re part of the same family as humans, monkeys, and apes. Gorillas are known for their strong bodies, big heads, and gentle nature. There are two main types: the Eastern gorilla and the Western gorilla. They usually move on all fours but can stand on two legs! Because they are so strong and powerful, they remind us of big teddy bears—safe, but still mighty! 🐻

Gorillas live in thick, tropical forests and mountainous regions in Africa. 🌳

They love munching on leaves, stems, fruit, and flowers. An adult gorilla can eat up to 40 pounds (18 kg) of food daily! They have special teeth that help them chew tough leaves. Gorillas spend about 10 to 12 hours a day foraging for food. They are gentle eaters and can use their hands to pick their food just like we do! 🍌

Gorillas are very big! Adult male gorillas can weigh between 300 and 500 pounds (135 to 230 kg), while females are smaller, ranging from 150 to 250 pounds (68 to 113 kg).
