The life cycle of a carrion beetle has four main stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. π₯
The adult female lays eggs on or near dead animals. After about one week, the eggs hatch into larvae, or grubs. These grubs feed on the decaying body. π
After they grow, they turn into a pupa, a resting stage where they change. A few weeks later, the adult beetles emerge! This whole process takes about 1 to 2 months, depending on the temperature and conditions. π‘
