Long ago, before the alphabet was created, Armenians used Greek letters and other scripts to write! 📜
Mesrop Mashtots was a very clever man. He realized that the Armenian language needed its own alphabet, so he studied sounds and shapes, creating letters that represented them. The alphabet was ready in 405 AD, and the first book written in Armenian was called the Bible! 📖
This helped people read and write better. The Armenian alphabet has changed over time, but it still honors Mesrop’s amazing work.
