Airbags work using something called sensors. ๐ค
When a car gets in a crash, these sensors detect the impact. Almost instantly, they send a signal to the airbag module. ๐
This tells the airbag to inflate, using a gas called nitrogen to fill it up. The bag inflates in less than 1/20th of a second! ๐
Once the airbag inflates, it catches your body and helps slow you down gently. After a few seconds, the airbag begins to deflate, so the driver and passengers can see and move again. Isnโt science cool?
