Tamaulipas has different regions, each with its own way of making money and growing food or products. In the north, near Texas, farms grow crops, and big factories called maquiladoras make things like clothes and parts. These factories often hire many workers, especially women, and places like the Oradel Industrial Center in Nuevo Laredo are super busy.
Down south, near the Gulf of Mexico, the economy focuses on petrochemicalsâthat's chemicals made from oil and gas. Big plants in Altamira turn oil into useful stuff, and ports in Ciudad Madero and Tampico ship containers and oil worldwide. Fishing and beach tourism bring visitors to spots like La Pesca, too.
In the center, around the capital Ciudad Victoria, people farm, cut trees for wood carefully, and build some factories. About 30% of folks live here, mixing city life with countryside work.
